Fella Makafui granted bail after her arrest

Popular social media influencer and actress Precious Fella Makafui has been granted bail after her arrest for selling unregistered drugs from her shop in Mempeasem.

Investigative reporter Akwasi Koranteng, representing ISPYGH 247—an investigative documentary filmmaking firm in partnership with the Pharmacy Council Ghana—reported the arrest of Fella Makafui on May 22, 2024.

The arrest followed a six-month surveillance operation monitoring Fella’s social media activity on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

The report lists confiscated items including fertility teas, enlargement syrups and oils, detox pearls, and sexual vitality teas, among others.

These products were allegedly marketed without approval from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).

During interrogation, Fella, the CEO of Simply Snatched Slimming Tea, admitted to selling non-FDA-registered drugs. She has since been granted bail pending further investigation.

The Pharmacy Council Ghana and ISPYGH 247 have stated that they will provide further updates as the case progresses.

Fella’s arrest follows the arrest of some other social media influencers, including Snapchat influencer Dulcie Boateng, in April 2024 by the Pharmacy Council in collaboration with Akwasi Koranteng.

This comes in the wake of her messy separation from her husband Medikal.

Okomfour Kwadee family member seeks money for his treatment

Ezekiel Aguyire, a family member of hiplife musician Jerry Anaba, popularly known as Okomfour Kwadee, has called on the public to offer financial support to the artiste.

Ezekiel who spoke exclusively to Joy FM confirmed that Kwadee is currently in their hometown, Mirigu Nabango in the Upper East Region.

He stated that the ‘Boyz Boyz’ hitmaker is still battling mental health challenges but lacks the financial strength to pay for treatment.

“He is not feeling well. But now he is a little better. We need the help of Ghanaians for our brother now. He is not supposed to be here but because of the sickness [he had to leave Kumasi],” he said.

He explained that they took him to several places for treatment but due to “money issues” they could not afford some of the medical services.

While seeking suggestions from the public on what to do to give Kwadee the right treatment, Ezekiel mentioned that “even if you find the solution without money, you can’t do anything.”

Commenting on a recent performance video that surfaced on social media, he said he would not have allowed it if he had been around.

“A week ago, he went to do a show, they videoed him and took it to social media. That day I was not around but I came back and heard everything. I did not feel fine about it,” he mentioned.

He, also doubted if any payment was made for Kwadee’s performance because the programme was organised by a family member who lives in another town.

Ezekiel indicated that he used to take care of Okomfour Kwadee since he relocated to Nabongo about two years ago until his mother also joined them.

He added Kwadee’s father recently passed away, and that the funeral is slated for this weekend.

A recent video of Kwadee who looks emaciated, frail, and unkempt, performing at a gathering, has raised serious concerns among music fans and creative industry stakeholders.

The video has stoked a conversation about the current mental health status and general financial condition of the ‘Ofie Nipa’ hitmaker, with some suggesting it could be spiritually motivated.

My ‘Brag’ song not a ‘jab’ to Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy- Sakordie

Rapper Sarkodie has denied feuding with Nigerian Afrobeats superstars Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.

In an interview with VoxAfrica, the Adonai hit-maker explained his goals, saying that his songs were not meant to look down on the Nigerian musicians.

He noted that the lyrics were just storytelling and references to how far he has been in the industry and not to disrespect the hard work of leading African artistes.

He added that if he wanted to throw jabs, his target would have been rappers, not singers.

“Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido would never think I want to jab them because if I want to jab somebody, it has to be rappers. They are not rappers. I am just talking to rappers about how long I’ve been there and who else is best to use as reverence? Everybody knows Wizkid, Burna Boy, Black Sheriff, Asake and Davido,” he said.

“And it’s true that I was in the industry before they all came in. It’s just references to how long I’ve been there. It’s not throwing jabs at anybody. These are incredible, amazing artists,” he added.

Sarkodie dropped ‘Brag’ last Friday and the song created a huge buzz on social media. Brag is one of the songs on his upcoming The Championship EP scheduled for release on Friday, May 24.

According to Sarkodie, his intention was misconstrued, though he enjoyed the trend and energy because it is “great PR”.

Medikal speaks on ‘failed marriage’ with Fella Makafui

As tongues wag over news of Fella Makafui and Medikal’s failed marriage, the rapper has said they never had sex for almost a year while they lived in separate rooms in the same house.

A tweep, in his analysis, claimed that the brouhaha about the marriage might not be as it seems considering that they still live under the same roof.

Medikal and Fella still live in the same house. They want to stay together and co-parent, but they are separated. This isn’t America; they will still have intimate moments. In the video, Fella is wearing a nightgown, meaning they are staying in the same house, but someone said Fella left—laughable,” the tweet, which was in Pidgin, read.

In response, Medikal refuted the suggestion that he had been making love to Fella Makafui despite the turmoil.

“It’s been almost a year, we never nack [never had sex], we live in separate rooms. I have a nanny who takes care of my daughter! I wouldn’t have been this informative but since she involved the public and called the cops on me rather than solving it at home amicably, it’s best y’all be in the know,” Medikal stated.

Among other claims, the musician said Fella Makafui had a desire to emulate certain women she sees on TV.

This fixation on television personalities, he indicated, has influenced her extravagant way of life and questionable decisions.

“I can’t mention names, but she’s so eager to emulate certain TV personalities, and it’s steering her towards this lifestyle,” he commented.

Medikal also disclosed his opposition to Fella undergoing surgery postpartum and claimed she insisted, citing her peers’ similar procedures.

He has been notably active on social media, particularly following an incident where he alleged that his estranged wife, who still shares their home, reported him to the police.

Medikal attributes this development to his request for Fella to have her cousin, a long-term resident in their household, vacate the premises.

Kalybos speaks on alleged feud with Funny Face

Comic actor, Richard Asante known by the stage name, Kalybos, has clarified that he holds no grudge against comedian Funny Face despite the alleged feud between the two over a lady.

Kalybos explained that his friendship with Funny Face has loosened only because of some life experiences that have prompted him to be cautious about friendships.

Speaking in an interview on Onua FM, the comic actor mentioned that although there’s no strong bond between himself and Funny Face, they are still friends.

“It’s not that we’re no longer friends. Certain situations toughen you, and not everyone who enters your life is meant to stay. It’s best not to cling to what should not remain. We haven’t met recently, but certain events reveal who should be near you. So, there’s no tension,” Kalybos said.

Funny Face had some time ago accused Kalybos of pursuing a lady he had been involved with in a live video.

Responding to this claim, Kalybos said he was surprised by the claim and denied getting involved with a woman Funny Face had an intimate relationship with.

He said he wouldn’t get involved with a woman Funny Face had associated with and finds the accusation baseless while he recounted how his fiancée joked about the situation.

Kalybos urged the public to disregard Funny Face’s accusation admitting that he cannot think of any reason why Funny Face made such accusations.

It is worth noting that this issue had happened before Kalybos tied the knot recently.

RMD: ‘Hypocrisy is one of the biggest problems in Christianity’

Esteemed Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, widely known as RMD, has pinpointed hypocrisy as a significant issue confronting the church today.

During his guest appearance on Teju Babyface’s ‘King of Talks’ podcast, RMD shared his distinctive views on God and Christianity.

He articulated: “My perception of Christ and how we should welcome Him in the modern era may not align with conventional views. Yet, I believe God has placed me here for this reason—to stir the pot and challenge norms. I feel destined to approach this in an unorthodox manner.”

He continued, “I was intrigued by a podcast discussing faith and fame, and I was eager to participate. Why? It challenges the preconceived notions among Christians. For instance, why shouldn’t a whiskey distiller be recognized as a Christian? It’s an art form.”

RMD believes that the true essence of Christianity lies in the church’s openness to accept believers just as they are.

“In Christ’s time, people were shipbuilders, vineyard owners, and wine producers. They were free to follow Christ if they chose to. That’s the crux of Christianity—’Come as you are,'” he elaborated.

“People should be welcomed in their current state. Preventing them from approaching Christ as they are only hinders their transformation. Let them come, and let them engage in society in a manner that draws others to Christ, devoid of hypocrisy. This, I believe, is one of the church’s greatest challenges today—hypocrisy.”

Dr Grace Boadu got addicted to painkillers after her miscarriage

Pastor Kingsley Gyamfi, the boyfriend of the late Dr. Grace Boadu, has disclosed that his partner became addicted to painkillers to relieve her of the pain she was going through.

According to him, the deceased was going through some pains after she had a miscarriage, hence, she resorted to taking a drug called ‘pethidine’ to manage the situation.

He said that when he realized his late partner was taking the drug consistently, he advised her to refrain from it but she did not listen to him, which affected their relationship at some point.

Speaking on The Delay Show, the pastor denied being arrested by the police as a result of injecting Dr. Grace Boadu with the medicine.

“She [Dr. Grace Boadu] started taking painkillers [Pethidine] after her miscarriage. Because it helped her relieve the pain, she was taking it consistently. I was not in support of it, so I decided not to go to her place sometimes; then she would let people talk to me before we came back again. It is not true that I injected her with an overdose and I was arrested,” he told Deloris Frimpong Manso during the show.

Pastor Kingsley further denied claims that the late herbal doctor died due to the drugs she was addicted to.

“I don’t think she died as a result of overdosing the pethidine. She was faring well while she was taking it; it could be that something else caused her death.”

The heartbreaking incident of Dr. Grace Boadu’s death occurred on Monday, January 29, 2024, at her residence at Tantra Hills, Accra.

According to the press release by the management of the clinic, Dr. Boadu returned from a two-week health course in South Africa on Sunday, January 28. She, however, died the next day.

Reports were rife that Dr. Grace Boadu died in the bathroom, which raised eyebrows in the public about what could be the possible cause of her death.

Meanwhile, the family has yet to officially announce the cause of Dr. Grace Boadu’s sudden death.
