The Electoral Commission (EC) has declined a request by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a live broadcast of a meeting to discuss findings and observations contained in the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) for the upcoming December 7 general elections.

NDC wrote to the EC demanding that the meeting to discuss the issues identified in the provisional voters register be broadcast live to ensure transparency.

But the EC in its response to the NDC’s request, said the discrepancies the party is raising are not new and therefore there is no need for a live broadcast of the meeting.

The EC further assured that it is committed to “free, fair, transparent, peaceful, and credible Elections. However, the Commission does not accept the proposal of a live broadcast of this meeting. Our team is ready to meet with your team on the agreed time.”
