The National Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah says his condition has greatly improved and has been discharged.

This comes nearly a month after he was involved in an accident en route to Kumasi for a party event.

He was admitted to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where he was visited by family and friends, including NPP General Secretary Kodua Frimpong.

In a post on his X (formerlyy Twitter) account, Mr Ahiagbah indicated that “I am out of the hospital today with a few more knots to untie, but I am back on my feet again.”

“Thank God almighty, and thank you all for your prayers and support.”

He went on to acknowledge the medical team who took care of him, saying, “To the dedicated team led by Dr. Charles K. Dally, the catalyst; Dr. Otu Boateng, the signature man; Dr. Roland Azorliade, the wise one; and Professor Peter Ambe, latter-day addition to the team and the host of nurses, I say God bless you for doctoring and nursing me back onto my feet.”

Mr. Ahiagbah also expressed his appreciation for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and its leadership.

“To Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), led by the dynamic Prof. Addai-Mensah, I owe a debt of support and advocacy to ensure that KATH continues to improve healthcare outcomes for Ghanaians.”

Reflecting on his experience, he noted, “Fighting to hold on to dear life at KATH has been very frightening and painful. But through it all, I have learned firsthand the extreme deficiencies and prospects of Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.”

Mr. Ahiagbah announced he is gearing up to set up the Turning Point Foundation “to promote a people-centered, outcome-driven health policy regime in Ghana.”
