The Takoradi constituency of NPP has targeted 57 out of total percentage of the December 7 presidential votes for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer.

To help achieve this target, members of the party, particularly the youth, have started a vigorous house-to-house campaign ahead of the constituency’s official campaign launch to sell and propagate Dr. Bawumia’s good works to the electorate.

They say Ghana cannot afford losing Dr Bawumia as the next president,  and have resolved to work very hard in achieving the targeted percentage of votes.

Some of them interviewed by the Daily Statesman described the Vice-President as a deep thinker and visionary leader needed by the country to build on the good works of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.

They also described him as a humble and trustworthy person who delivers on his pledge, citing his recent intervention in the prompt payment of trainee-nurses’ allowance.

Mentioning mobile money interoperability, digitization, the drone system, Ghana Card and construction of hostels for Kayayes as some of Dr. Bawumia’s handiwork, the party members expressed optimism that he will even do more when elected as President.

They indicated that Dr. Bawumia has 33 policies and programmes to his credit,  and added their voices to calls on former President Mahama to also state his achievements as former vice-president and president.

Besides lies and propaganda, they said,  Mr Mahama and his opposition NDC have nothing to offer Ghanaians, and urged the citizenry to totally reject the NDC on the election day.

The party members reiterated that Dr. Bawumia has the well-being of Ghanaian youth and other groups  such as small-scale miners, at heart and constantly speaks of plans by his government to roll out laudable policies for the various groups.

It is in this light that, they said Ghanaians will be doing the nation a great disservice by failing to usher this fine gentleman to the presidency irrespective of their political affiliations.
